Unregistered Boats

ATTENTION:  ALL FLA BOAT OWNERS!

The Board of Trustees is continuing to implement our Annual Boat Clean-Up initiative, with the objective of removing old and abandoned boats from Fayson Lakes to organize and revitalize our boat launch and guardian strip areas.

Plan/Timeline
  • During September & October 2021, boats that not displaying a boat decal later than 2019 were tagged with red tape.

  • During the grace period (September 2021 through May 2022) tagged boats will remain in current location and pictures of the boats will be sent out within an email blast, displayed on the Fayson Lakes website, or sent in another form of communication.

  • When the grace period ends in May 2022, boats tagged in 2021 will be moved to an area near the back tennis courts.

  • Boats that are not claimed from the new location by September 2022 will either be auctioned off or discarded.

The Board is performing this clean-up of boats without up-to-date registration decals as part of a cyclical/recurring process, so please make sure to purchase and display the current year decals on your boats.

While the cleanup is in progress, the Board will begin looking into ways to improve the boat launch area; for example, by creating designated spots on the ground to place boats and purchasing more wooden boat racks for small boats like kayaks and canoes.  We will also be engaging the Eagle Scouts for potential boat launch area projects.

If you have any questions or are willing to volunteer to help with the cleanup, please contact the Boats Trustee.

Unregistered Boats Found - Please Review and Claim

The following unregistered boats were found recently on Association property in the woods near Sabey's Beach, the South Lake boat launch, the Main Beach T-dock, and the East Lake boat launch.  If you are the owner of any of these boats, please contact the FLA Office or our Boats Trustee.
