Diversity & Inclusion Committee

The Fayson Lakes Association Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring an inclusive environment that welcomes all members of our community, and promotes diversity in all aspects, including but not limited to age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, and nationality. With this in mind, the FLA Trustees have taken the initiative to establish a new Diversity & Inclusion committee.

The objectives of this committee include the following:

  • Conduct a community needs assessment.

  • Finalize our Principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion that had been drafted over the summer.

  • Research potential training program recommendations for FLA Staff and Board members.

  • Develop other possible suggestions for the FLA Board to consider for incorporation into policies, procedures, or other areas.

The Board of Trustees is currently looking for volunteers to participate in the FLA Diversity & Inclusion committee. Volunteers will be asked to meet monthly (virtually) from January through May 2022 with Board member Laurence Gander, to make progress on the above goals. In addition, the committee will be encouraged to explore any other aspects which affect inclusivity and foster a welcoming environment for all members of the community.

If you are interested in being an active participant in these Diversity & Inclusion committee meetings, please send an email to lgander.fla@gmail.com. Any member of Fayson Lakes 12 years of age and older is welcome. We encourage members from a variety of backgrounds to participate and share their ideas. We look forward to meaningful discussions and suggestions which the Board of Trustees will consider implementing for the 2022 summer season and beyond.
